The dispersant additive added to the oil lubricant serves to keep the incoming foreign particles mixed with oil to keep it separated from each other so that no impurities precipitate are formed. These foreign particles can be mud, lacquer, dust, oxidation, water, and so on. A long chain succinimide hydrocarbon such as polyisobutylene succinimide is used as an oil lubricant dispersant. Pour-Point is the lowest temperature point where the oil can still flow. Wax crystals are formed from mineral oil at low temperatures and decrease oil fluidity.
